Notes on Techniques
This recipe is pretty straightforward — one and only one ingredient. Surprisingly though, there is some room for creativity based on intended uses. As demonstrated in the photos below, the Parmesan can be mounded, creating more of a solid wafer with a honeycomb look as the cheese bubbles. Or it can be spread out giving a freeform look.
Experiment with different approaches to give your dish the accent you like.

Easy, tasty and showy
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmigiano Reggiano
- 1/4 freshly ground Black Pepper (optional, or feel free to use more if it matches your use.)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking sheet.
- Sprinkle grated Parmesan on the sheets, spread to 2-inch mounds, or spread out as desired. You may choose round or elongated ovals to give a bit of design. Add a bit of pepper, if using.
- Bake for 6-8 minutes until crisp and desired color is reached.
